I have heard about the "mai tang yuan" chinese song from the VCD. I find it very funny. So, on this particular day, mommy asked me do I want to make "tang yuan". I said "Yes".
So, after my nap, mommy asked me to wash my hand with soup, then she pour some flour in a bowl and mixed with water. I can't wait to play..I wanted to try too. Later, mommy get kor kor to knead the dough. She then gave me some and I started playing with the dough.
Mommy asked me to roll it into a ball but I didn't want to. I just make it flat and played with it. Kor kor finished rolling it into balls.
So, this is my first time making tang yuan. It tasted sweet....

Sunway Live Musical Show - Beauty and The Beast
Mommy wanted to bring kor kor to the live musical show in Sunway Lagoon. She was hesitated to bring me along. She knows I love music and like to see dancing but afraid 2 hours is too long for me. Daddy said I will love it and after much thinking, she decided to bring me along. In the car, I kept telling mommy that I wanted to watch princess. Mommy said she will feel bad if she doesn't bring me along.
We went with yi yi SY, Charlotte jie jie and her friends. Daddy and grandma stayed back in Sunway Pyramid for shopping.
I love the tram ride from the entrance to the amphitheather. I love the company too as I like to play with Charlotte jie jie and friends.
When the show starts, I was a bit scared because the sound system was very loud and there were sound of thunder and lighting. There was a witch too. I am scared. So mommy carried and covered my ears.
Slowly I started to enjoy the show though I was still afraid of the loud sound. I was afraid of the beast initially but later mommy told me it was a bear transformed from a prince. I wasn't so frighten anymore.
I was watching and concentrating until the end of the show. I enjoyed the pop corn too. I love seeing them dancing the opa gangnam style too. I clapped hand everytime they finished a song or dance.
At the end, I was amazed with the bubbles blowing around us too. We also took some photos with the actors and actresses...
Mommy said luckily she brought me along. I enjoyed the show so much. I hope I can watch again.
After this show, I have been telling mommy "I like the prince. The prince is the bear."
Mommy is going to get me the book of "Beauty and the beast".

Batik Painting - 30/11/2012 (Fri)
Our neighbourhood organised a craft day for the children during the school holiday. Mommy registered for us, with the mind to bring kor kor there to do some art and craft work.
However, kor kor was in JB that week and couldn't make it to the craft day. So, mommy brought me along. Initially she thought of just go there for a visit but a mother recommended I join in the fun too. Mommy was thinking what is the best art I can do and she recommended batik painting. She said this is very easy and suitable for me. Well, I guess I am the youngest there.
So, mommy guided me how to do and well, I enjoyed doing it and the best part, I did it very well. Mommy was so proud of me. Everyone who passed by praised the nice art work too. I like purple, so I painted the turtle in purple.
After we finished, we spent some time with other mommies before leaving home. We had a good time out doing the art and craft.

Weaned off pacifier...
Yes...@ 2 years 8 months ++, finally mommy weanned me off from pacifier. Mommy has this plan for a long time but she felt that this is the hardest to do. She was not ready. She tried a while but finally gave in to me. Part of the reasons is I was easier to take care with pacifier around, especially in the car. With the pacifier in my mouth, I can sit still and keep quiet throughout the journey. She knows I will be more restless if I don't have the pacifier.
Somehow, during our Singapore trip, I was down with food poisoning. Mommy sent me to see doctor and doctor commented that I should not be sucking my pacifier anymore. However, I was not feeling well that time and mommy felt that it was quite "cruel" to let part with my favourite at this time. So she let me continue having it until I have recovered.
So, after we came back from Singapore, the following week, mommy told me that I am a big girl already. Since I also told mommy I wanted to go to kor kor's Bau Bei school, mommy said I cannot suck my pacifier anymore. Later, she told me if I can sleep without my pacifier, she will buy me a purple Barney. She told me Barney doesn't like children who suck pacifier and also Barney only like big children, not small children.
Because of Barney, I managed to sleep without pacifier.. 1 day, 2 days, 3 days..finally I didn't suck my pacifier since then. Every night when I sleep, I will remind mommy, "Bel bel don't eat paci already, mommy buy purple barney for bel bel, ok?"
It took mommy 2 weeks before she get me a purple singing Barney. Until today, I still mentioned.."Bel bel good girl, mommy buy bel bel purple barney, ok?"
The only problem is without pacifier, I get very restless in the car. I also throw more tantrums in the car. Also, at night sometimes I want to suck, I will tell mommy I want milk milk but in fact, I just want to suck..sometimes I asked for milk milk water..meaning sucking water from the milk bottle. It actually took me longer to adjust to days without pacifier as compared to kor kor but it wasn't too hard as expected by mommy. Maybe because I can understand better now, so I know what mommy means.

My 3rd or 4th Singapore trip
We went to Singapore for a long holiday last week. We left KL on Tuesday and back on Sunday. We were supposed to go visit Universal Studio and Science Center but but but....
I was down with food poisoning from Thursday onwards.
Mommy had it while we were in KL on Sunday but she was recovering. Unfortunately I started to have loose stool on Thursday. Then I started vomitting on Thursday night. It was bad,...I vomitted everything out...all my dinner and bread and water...
Then I had stomach ache..I wanted to apply oil. In the wee morning, I asked for milk and after I drank the milk, I vomitted again. Then I complained stomach ache. I had diaharre. I was cranky. I was lethargic..I was weak...
In the afternoon, daddy brought me to see a peaditrician. As usual, they gave some medicine and asked mommy to give me small amount of water and food in frequent interval. If I eat/drink too much, I'll vomit out everything. I was so lifeless on that day..only sleep and sleep..and close my eyes and rest..I didn't eat, didnt want to drink, didn't talk, didn't walk, didn't play and didn't even cry.
Daddy and mommy were worried sick. But my appetite came back after a day and I started to demand for food...every food I see I want to eat..It was hard for mommy to control my food intake. It was because if I don't get what I want..I will just scream, cry and throw tantrums. I even pull down daddy's spectacle and throw it down.
Even after I recovered, I started to be very demanding. I threw tantrums when demands not met. Mommy is having lots of headache from me. I like to use stamach ache as an excuse to get some tummy massage with oil.
Now, I have recovered but my tantrums still the same...Mommy is getting more and more impatience with me..well ..what to do...this is called terrible two la...in fact, I started late already...
So no pictures to show this time as we didn't take any pictures. Yes..I swam a few times in my yi yi condos for the first 2 days. I just love swimming and I love the children pool..It is like our private pool..nobody fight with me. I love the feeling of floating on the pool....how I wish I can go and swim again..I really miss my swimming session in Singapore...
Till then...I will be back to Singapore again...this time..we must visit more places..
p/s: we were supposed to check into Marriot hotel on Friday night but was postponed due to my sickness. Mommy said she visited the washroom more than the shops in the shopping center with me because I kept wanting to go poo poo. So, mommy ended up having a stressful holiday in Singapore. Luckily, my yi yi has a helper that can help us to clean up and cook for me.

No sew tutu skirt/fairy skirt
I have been asking mommy for dancing clothes every time I change my clothes. Now, I decided what to wear and like to wear skirts that can swing when I twirl around.
So, mommy came up an idea to make a tutu skirt. She surfed the internet and found this "no sew tutu instruction". It is super easy to make. Wait no more, mommy immdiately went to the nearest textile shop to buy the material for me. Unfortunately, they did not have the so called "tulle" material. However, mommy found the organza material. She bought 4 meter and tried it out. She uses rubber waistband for this skirt.
Within a night, she completed my first so called "tutu skirt". It looks more like a fairy skirt more than a tutu skirt.
I like it very much but the only problem is I find it very itchy after wearing it for some time..
Mommy was not happy with the result...after a week, she went to a florist to buy this netting material and thought can make the skirt "stand", so it will look more like a tutu. This is the result.
Well, it turned out about the same..but this is more itchy than the previous. Mommy uses ribbon this time. Guess I have to wear a pants inside, so that I don't feel the skirt "poking" me...hehehe...
See..do I look like a princess??
Anyone know where to get the "tulle" material???Mommy wanted to make a better one for me.

My 3rd pair of spectacle frame
I have been wearing spectacles about 1 year and 4 months ago.
I have changed my lens once 4 months back after my power changed.
In 1 year and 4 months, I have changed 2 spectacle frames.
Why??
It wasn't easy to source for toddler spectacle frame. It has to be flexible, lasting and not hurting any part of the face after wearing for long time. Finally we found this fully rubberise frame from Kota Damansara. However, it didn't last long. About 10 months after wearing it, one morning when mommy tried to clean my spectacles, the arm suddenly broken.
She called for replacement and they are good to give me a new replacement with the same colour - pink. Another 10 months passed, one afternoon mommy suddenly saw a crack in the middle of the frame. She knows it will break into two very soon. She called to complain again.
They are kind enough to explain to mommy why it is so easily break. Since this is made of pure rubber, the hot and humid weather here will cause it to oxidize fast and the material will degrade over time. They did not have this problem in overseas but found it here. By the way, this frame is imported from Germany. Guess it is meant for their country.
They promised for a last replacement and mommy also decided to change the frame for me once I need to redo my lens. Currently, we will have to accept whatever it is given by them. So, now I got a brand new frame with different colour...WHITE.
Daddy think it is nice..even nicer than the pink. Mommy initially think not so nice but after a while, she finds it ok too. So, what do you think?

Tot school: 13/09/2012 (Thursday)
Oppss..I missed out this tot school day.. this is like a school day 2 months ago.
Mommy didn't plan to do specific school with me today but after I took out this book, she started doing school with me. We started out this page about "What can I do?" So, mommy started to get me doing all these...
I enjoy doing housework. Do you?
Then, we proceeded to the next page...what colour of tie is the daddy bear wearing...
We also did some facial expression...happy and sad...
Then, we sang some songs, read some stories from the book..and did some finger actions but no photos here because we were enjoying ourselves and didn't want to be interrupted.
Then, mommy took out some straws and let me did some colour matching.
Later, I inserted the straw in a paper holder.
After I get bored of it, mommy took out "chop chop" for me to chop on the paper.
Before we ends the school, mommy took out the memory game for me to practise my memory.
This kind of school is more relaxing for mommy. No preparation required. Just nice for lazy mommy.

Tot School: 11/10/2012 (Thursday)
It was a long time since I posted the tot school activities. We have slowed down a bit on the montessori PLS part but still continue schooling through learning toys. Today is the day we played a bit and learn something new..
Mommy took out the balancing crocodile for me to test my balancing skill. It is not that difficult but the moment your hand touches the rest of the blocks, the whole thing will fall down. Then we have to start all over again..
I need to focus and concentrate and do it SLOWLY. Mommy helped a bit and get me going...if not, I will get cheeky and once it dropped, I will just "sweep" everything down with my hands...
Later, mommy get me to arrange the blocks from big to small, with the same colours. Here I learn the words - big, medium and small. Putting it up on top of another block also not easy. It needs good control..
Later, I am getting cheeky and use my toes to grasp the balancing balls.
Since I am doing the sequencing (from big to small with the same colours), mommy took out this for me to continue learning sequencing.
I can get the size correctly but all the while I don't bother about the colours. Today, mommy insisted that I must get the same colour in the same column too.
Then, we did some puzzles...
The body parts puzzle
and the giant alphabets puzzle..
I need help from mommy on this..
This ends our school today as kor kor is home now.

Art Day - Chalk drawing
Kor Kor has been pastering mommy to let him try using chalk. But mommy has been delaying because she feels that chalk is very dirty and dusty. She doesn't allow us to play chalk in the house although we have a black board at the art easel.
Today, mommy allowed us to use chalk..for the first time...she brought us out to the back kitchen and let us draw on the cement floor...it was fun...as usual, kor kor only plays a while and I played longer. It is so easy..no need to clean up and mommy loves all the drawings and writing left on the floor..it disappeared after a few days.

Milestone: 2 years 7 months, 1 week and 5 days old
updated by mommy..
This milestone is definitely long overdue. I think I better update whatever is in my mind now before it slowly diminishes from my memory..
1. Sleep:
- She still sleeps in her playpent in her own bedroom and in a sleeping bag. She sleeps without light on but with some blue light shining out from the air purifier.
- I tried to implement early bedtime but fail miserably. So, she now sleeps around 11pm. Sometimes she may fall asleep only at 12am. However, once I put her down in her cot, I leave it to her. I told her that she has to sleep and if she is not, she cannot call mommy too. Sometimes, she may asked for this and that and give tons of excuses just to look for me.
Example last night:
She tried to sleep but could not and called me. I usually walked in and with a stern voice and asked "What do you want?". She told me, "Mommy phone got message..beep beep..like that...mommy pressed the phone.." . Whatever she said defnitely not true.
2 nights ago:
She told me "My pants drop..my clothes drop also.."
She is still wearing her sleeping bag to sleep and her clothes can't possibly dropped. Anyway, I gave it a check and told her that her clothes didn't drop. She insisted that "Got...see..(pulling her shirt out from the sleeping bag)..my clothes dropped.."
Usually if I gave her milk, then she will sleep very soon after that.
- Sometimes she still gets up for midnight feed, if not, early morning feed.
- Because she sleeps late, she wakes up late too. I let her be, so that I can complete my housework in peace and sometimes have some me time too. Usually she wakes up around 10am.
- Her nap time around 3.30pm to 5.30pm (2 hours)
2. Meal
- She will have milk as breakfast until lunch time (around 1.15pm). Milk again after her nap and before sleep. Sometimes another milk feed middle of the night. (3-4 feedings of milk a day)
- Lunch and dinner eat what we eat. She eats better at home compared to outside.
- She has sweet tooth. She LOVES sweet things. She always asked for vitamins (she called it sweet sweet), chocolates, raisins, cranberries, yogurt drink, ice cream, belly button biscuit (the traditional small round biscuit with coloured sugar in the middle. Sometimes she will eat the sugar and leave the biscuit behind). Whenever she sees Darren eating mamee, she will ask for it too. She loves fruits too like grapes but dislike banana.
- She is not into bread totally. No to organic biscuits.
- She snacks non stop after dinner. Somehow after dinner, she will ask for things to eat. She will said, "mommy choose for bel bel. Be bel want to eat something." One after another ...Sometimes she will snack 5-6 types of food from dinner until bedtime. Maybe she knows the daddy will give her all the junk she asked for. Unlike during the day, I tried very hard to control her snack.
- She likes noodle and rice. Dislike porridge. She is more choosy than Darren.
3. Speech
- She is very talkative nowadays. She speaks quite well too. You can converse with her better.
- She loves to greet people..something I am proud of. Guess she follows the kor kor who loves to call people too.
- She likes to ask question like "What are you doing?" "What are you eating?" "Why XXXXX is here?" "Why? Whe kor kor cry/angry?"
- She can answer you very firm with her YES or NO when you ask her something.
- She can sing a few songs like happy birthday, teddy bear teddy bear, xie xie ni (thank you song in mandarin)....
4. Character
- She is very active, adventourous, playful, wild, rough, stubborn, persistant, socialable (especially with children), sensitive, complain queen.
- She will comfort herself when being scolded by telling herself that mommy was only "talking" to her and not scolding her.
- If you raise you voice a little bit or saying NO to her, she will cry, thinking that you scolded her.
- If she is playing, she fall or hit something, she will not cry or even bother about it. But just a little bit skin peel off from her fingers, she will cry and hold her fingers as if her finger has broken. She always exegerrate her pain.
Example, she hit her shin bone at the staircase yesterday but she only started crying when she sees her shin bone bruised today. She will hold her leg and said she cannot walk and demanded to be carried and cried non stopped. She also want to wear long pants to cover the bruised area.
- She is a big BULLY to her kor kor. Always bully her kor kor by sitting on him, fight for his things...
Example: One day she bullied Darren and made him cried...then when she saw him cried, she immediately told him,
"Sorri..sorri..sorri..sorri..sorri...sorri..Darren (sounded very kan cheong)" Yes..,she called him Darren sometimes.
"Don't cry ok, Darren..you are a big boy already..cannot cry ok?" (with comforting voice)
"Don't cry..don't cry.." (sounded more kan cheong and talked faster and louder)
"STOP CRYING..." (She shouted it loud and demanded Darren to stop crying)..
I couldnt stop laughing after seeing this..
- She can play very wild when she is happy.
- She is not a child who likes being cuddle tightly and kissed. She is not really favour of physical closeness. She will find it very ticklish and tried to avoid. However, Darren loves to be cuddled and loved.
- But she likes to play rough like step on you, sit on you, jump on you, pull your hair, scratch you, hit you...more violant as compared to Darren.
- She is outgoing. She loves going out..despite her being very sleepy, once she is out, she won't look tired or sleepy but once get into the car, she will fall asleep very fast. Her favourite places are Carefour, shopping and watch movie.
- She is a fast learner too. You just need to teach her one or two times and she will pick it up.
5. Play
- She loves to play basically everything. She even play Darren's board game but to her way.
- She loves puzzles.
- She likes to play dress up. Once I dressed her up as a minnie and she refused to take it out even during bedtime. She was wearing her pyjamas with the pokka dot skirt outside. She cried for almost the whole night when I tried to remove her clothes.
- She is a vain pot. She likes to dress up even at home. She will wear socks, shoes, cap, bags, jacket around at home. She will want to choose her clothes to wear every morning. When she goes out, she always like to wear the dresses that made by my mil. Yesterday I bought her a watch and she has been wearing it since then...even to sleep...
- She loves playground. She likes slides..I think she likes adventurous activities.
- She is one child that I always feel like buying toys for her because as compared to Darren, she loves to play.
Overall, she is such a loving child to be with. I grow to love her more and more. I love to smell her. I really love this stage of her. I remember once I questioned myself how to love her as much as Darren because she was so hard to take care of but now...I can proudly say I do LOVE her as much as Darren...
Isabel, you have grown up so much lately...my little girl..I love you so much...*smooch*..
This is how she dress herself up at home. |

Tot school: 9/8/2012 (Thursday)
Again, today I told mommy I wanted to do pouring the minute I entered the study room. So, mommy allowed me to some water pouring.
Initially I couldn't control my motor skill and the cup was overflow. Mommy then taught me when to stop and not to overpour by pouring slowly. I then acquire the skill and slowly, I managed to pour it without overflow.
Remember I love anything that related to water. I spent about half an hour on this activity..repeating the pouring process.
Next, we revisited the pegging exercise again. I didn't do too well the last time and need some help from mommy. However, this time, I surprised mommy by clipping all the pegs on the bowls on my own without much effort. Yes...I finally pass this activity and my pincer grip has definitely improved a lot.
I repeated this activity a few times without much effort and mommy was so happy.
Next, mommy took out some ice cream sticks and let me form some shapes with it. The first shape I formed was triangle, followed by square.
Later, mommy showed me how to form a house by placing the triangle on top of the square.
Then, we formed some letters.
After that, I lined up all the sticks together and started counting.
Mommy then gave me a long container and let me insert the ice-cream stick inside one by one. I like the sound created by the sticks when it drops inside the long container.
After that, we shaked and rolled the container on the floor and creating some sounds from the sticks inside.

Lastly, I took out kor kor's CSI set to play. Mommy taught me how to form a face by putting the eyes, nose, mouth, ear, hair and face together. I like to form an "aunty". From then on, I called this game "aunty". hahahaha...

Child Play: Zingo
This Zingo game is actually Darren's birthday present from a good friend. Not only Darren is benefiting from playing this game, even Isabel is having fun with it too.
I lay all the cards on the floor and let Isabel took the chip out and match with the items on the cards. A very good matching activity. At the same time, she is also learning new vocabulary from the cards.
I always believe that everything that a child play has a learning opportunity. We just need to pay a little more attention and be more creative. They don't really need a lot of "real toys"...which do not provide much learning value.
Isabel has been playing a lot of Darren's board/education games. I just need to change the game a little bit to suit her age. She is learning a lot from it.

Giving excuses
One day, mommy wanted me to try some funny drink. I saw the content and I was not interested. I shaked my head. After a while, mommy tried again, I told mommy in a serious look,
"Bel bel cough cough, cannot drink. Bel bel hachiu (sneezing), cannot drink."
Mommy shaked her head, she said "So young already know how to give excuses..."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today we were having lunch and Isabel decided that she had enough (the bowl still has some leftover) and started to get out from the highchair, mommy asked, "Isabel, do you still want somemore?" Isabel replied,
"No...bel bel cough cough...bel bel cannot eat already.."
*shake head* she really know how to use "cough" as an excuse..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Isabel loves to eat sweet things, especially raisins, cranberries, vitamins...We told her that too many sweet things are not good for her.
One day, mommy gave her some fruits but she refused. She told mommy,
" This one sweet sweet, no good."
*pengsan*

Tot school: 07/08/2012 (Tuesday)
I am still very much interested in all the new set of games mommy bought for me. So, today, I took it out myself from the shelf.
First, I started playing with the Geoforme. Today, I surprised mommy by forming 2 semi circles together and make a bigger circle. See, letting me explore myself will definitely give her more surprises than her guiding me what to do...
I also started to realise that 2 triangles will form a square too.
Next, I took out the BuBu game again. Mommy took this opportunity to play the memory game with me. I couldn't get it right, so mommy just let me do matching instead.
Mommy repeated many times that she loves to see me focus in doing something serious.

Diaper free
by mommy @ 2 years 5 months and 4 weeks old..
I wanted to post this post for quite some time but have been forgetting about it. Anyway, I want to annouce proudly that Isabel is now diaper free from day to night..all day long...
I knew she was ready to potty train when she was around 2 years old, since she can understand us. But, this mommy was lazy and due to the maid leaving, I postponed this until she was 2 years and 3 months old. If I did remember wrongly, I started potty train her in early July.
It just took me a day to make her understand that she has to pee in the toilet bowl and not in her pants. She can conveyed her message very well to me everytime she needs to pee..So, there was not much accidents happenning during the training.
To my surprise, since she knows she has to pee in the toilet, she auto control her bladder even during her nap and night time. So, overnight, she was potty trained for day and night..I was amazed....It was just so easy and happened over night.
However, I still have no confidence that she can control her bladder during her sleep, though she proved to me by having dry diaper during most of her naps and night time sleep. I still put on disposable diaper for her every night, so to finish up the remaining disposable diapers that I had..but every morning, I have to throw away a dry mamy poko, which makes me feel very wasteful.
So, one day, I decided to put on a cloth diaper for her, instead of disposable diaper. At least, if she accidently pee in her sleep, she won't wet her bed. If not, I can just wash it everyday and there will be no wastage. A good idea.
So, she is wearing her cloth diaper at night and just her panties during her nap. So far, there was no accident since the first day I potty trained her. She woke me up 2 or 3 times middle of the night asking to pee in the toilet. Even during long trip, she refused to pee/poo in the disposable diaper.
Now, I have to make sure she pee before going out. In public places, I have to carry her to pee in the toilet. But it could be messy..I feel that it is harder for a girl to pee in the public toilet compared to boy. Twice, she wanted to poo in the public toilet but fail. She waited until we reached home. Poor girl...
So, I can finally announced that she is 100% diaper free...I am proud of her...

princess wanted to go daddy office...

" bel bel big girl already, then can go daddy office"
It is all because kor kor followed daddy to office on Monday after school and Isabel wanted to follow too but daddy said Isabel is still a small girl, cannot go office.

Tot school: 26/07/2012 (Thursday)
Since mommy introduced me the Geoforme activity last week, I fell in love with the set. I frequently take it out and played with the different shapes. Now, mommy didn't take out the cards for me to follow and build. She now let me form the shapes myself.
This time, I surprised her by arranging the same shape in 3 different sizes. She was surprised to see that and took out the remaining shapes in different sizes to let me arrange.
See, I am able to arrange all from big to small.
Next, she took out some cards (a free gift set from the enfa milk powder) and let me do shape matching. She uses the Geoforme board and arranged 4 cards on it. I am able to match the shapes.
After that, we requested the memory game from the shelf.
Last, mommy took out this set of new game for me.
It contains of 12 pieces of puzzles to form the town. 16 models mode of transportation ( 4 aeroplanes, 4 ships, 4 cars and 4 trains) and 6 memory cards.
First, we need to fix the puzzle to form the town. I need help from mommy to complete the puzzle.
Next, mommy taught me how to place all the vehicles on to the puzzles.
Last, mommy guided me how to play with the different mode of transportation - car runs on a road, train runs on a track, ship sails on sea and aeroplane flies in the sky.
Mommy think this game is very educational. We have no time to continue with the memory game provided in this set. I like to play with the car model very much.
