Morning Outdoor Fun

I wake up around 8+am most of the morning and started this 2 days, mommy allowed me to go out and play at the porch area. Sometimes morning, sometimes in the evening. I have been going to playground in most evening nowadays together with kor kor.

This morning, I woke up at 8am and the weather was just so nice. So, kakak brought me outside while mommy was having her breakfast. Later, mommy joined me outside. I love balls, I love to kick ball too. So, I play ball, I stand at the gate looking at the cars passing by and point at the car and said "ohhh..car..car". I run, I look at fishes at the fish pond..Around 9.30am, the sun started to come out and it was all sunny and hot. I was so sweaty by then and my hair was all wet. I even played with my shadows on the wall. I don't know what was it initially. The black thing in front of me kept following what I do and I stood there for some time making different action. Lastly, I even want to "sayang" my shadow on the wall..it was so funny...

It was a great morning. I was all tired after came into the house. Mommy treated me banana after washing my hands and legs while listening to my children song. What a bliss!!

Eye checkup for both kids

updated by mommy

Sent both Isabel and Darren for eye checkup last Friday. We planned it on Friday because we wanted the Dr to have more time and patience for Isabel..but....sigh...

Ok, last Friday was a schedule checkup for Darren to obtain his new power because his glasses are very scratched and we wanted to do a new lens for him. So, we brought forward the power checking 2 months earlier. He needed to put on eye drops in order to get the power checked.

It was also a scheduled checkup for Isabel to obtain her power since we failed to get it the last time. We wanted to give it another try. So I planned my day very well, so that she has enough sleep, fully fed and brought toys, ipad loaded with her favourite children songs video, bread and biscuits along to the hospital.

The appointment was supposed to be 1.30pm but Isabel woke up late that morning and she had a late nap. Yes, I wanted her to have a nap before going, so that she will be happy and not cranky. She woke up around 1.30pm from her late nap and immediately we rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately we were stucked in a "dunno why" massive jam at the Subang roundabout for about 15 mins. We finally arrived the hospital around 2.45pm.

The doctor has many patients on that day and I requested to let Isabel check on her squint first. If she has the squint, we have to immediately plan for her power checking. Hence the eye drops. If no squint, it is still up to us to decided to get the power checked or not.

Well, we were waiting at the playroom and she was happily playing the rocking horse.

Then it was about her milk time and we wanted to make milk but then suddenly the nurse called for her. She went in and the minute I sat down, she started to struggle and try to avoid the doctor. It took some effort to get her to focus on the target and the doctor briefly checked her pupils alignment.

Good news was her eyes still have not developed squint yet but soon she might have due to her in born defect of the shape of the cornea. The doctor advised us to obtain her power as soon as possible even though she has no squint because early years of clear vision is important for them to develop certain cells in the brain. Arrgghhh....meaning, it is a MUST to get the power, so that if her power is high, even though no squint, she still need to be put on glasses. Seems like we cannot avoid this. The doctor suggested us to put her under sedation because she seems not co-operative during the sessions and it will be quite hard for both.

Sedation....something we really do not wish to do on her but I know she is not an easy child, especially she is wary of strangers. We wanted to try, to try let her do it without sedation but don't think the doctor has the patience/time for us to slowly get her into it. Also, if we still fail to obtain her power by then, she will need to go through another round of "eye drops" nightmare for the "3rd" time. This is something we do not want her to go through so many times too. Hubby, who opposed the idea from the begining also started to give in, looking at how she reacted the minute we sat near the doctor. Maybe sedation is the only option...

Back to Darren....he needed to put the eye drops to obtain his new power..However, he was not co-operating as well this time. Maybe the daddy is around. He was especially manja and hubby gave in so much of his demand. The last time I was able to do it just with me around him. It took us so long to put the first drop. After a few minutes, we need to put the 2nd drop and it was even harder. He kept giving excuse, demanding for things and yet still not able to put. Finally, it reached 4pm and the clinic is closing and we did not have enough time for Darren. The check can only be done after 45 minites of the last drop of eye drops. He needs a total of 3 drops each on each eye and we were only managed to put in the first drop. So, mission abandon due to time contraint.

The nurse advised us to let them both do it another time together and advise us to go earlier. So that they can help us to 'force' them for the eye drops. As for Isabel, since they need to sedate her, it is advisable to go earlier too. Let her be very sleepy and it will be easier for her to sleep after the sedation medicine. So, we scheduled the appointment again after 2 weeks.

Mission was not accomplished this time for both kids but we wasted RM180++ just for normal check, which I really think not necessary, epsecially for Darren since he is going for his power check next 2 weeks. It was supposed to be power checking but ended up just a normal check...sigh!! Stress...stress on the parents and hubby's pocket too..

I love to scream..

Yes..I love to scream...I scream really really loud and I enjoy screaming..
I even invite kor kor to scream together with me and see who screams the loudest.
I will scream first and look at kor kor.
Kor kor then starts screaming and I will laugh..
After laughing, I scream even louder than kor kor..
the kor kor will try to scream even louder than me..
and we both laugh...
At the end, both of us get scolding from daddy and mommy...
our voice are definitely deafening..especially when we are in the car.
I just like to do this in the car because I am bored.

Last Saturday night, we played the "screaming" game in the car.
On Sunday, we played again but I lost my voice when I screamed very loud..
Everyone was so worried about my voice..
But now, I am back to normal and I started screaming again...

I will also scream when things are not given..
I am very fierce.
This evening, I was screaming in the porch when playing ball catching.
My scream even catch the attention of our opposite neighbour poh poh.
She was amazed of my loud voice.

I definitely have a pair of strong lungs...

My chicken pox jab

@ 1 year 3 mths 1 week and 1 day old

Mommy brought me for my chicken pox jab last Tuesday. As usual, I was crying and hiding away when the doctor took my statistic. At the end, they failed to obtain my height. I am slightly below average but still fall under the normal range.

When the doctor jab me, I cried my lungs out again. I am definitely not as brave/tough as korkor.

Luckily I didn't develop fever this time round. Doctor said I still have another pneumococoa booster jab next month..OH no....not anymore....WUAAAAA....

After reached home, while mommy tried to wash my hands at the sink (my upper body was bending down), suddenly mommy saw blood dripping down and she got a shock when she saw the blood dripping down from my nose. My nose bleed again, for the second time. Immediately she let me sit up right and tried to wipe away the blood. Thank God my nose stopped bleeding after that.

Mommy tried to call doctor but the doctor's phone was engaged most of the time and she failed to reach her even by the evening. Anyway, it was bleeding just for a while and later she observed me and found that I was behaving normal and fine. SHe never try contact the doctor again the next day.

Mommy forsees I will have more nose bleed sessions coming since my nose bleeds for 2 times already in just a few months time. She just hope my nose is ok and did not have any problem.

Preeetyyyy

The word that I frequently use lately - pretty. Kakak taught me this word.

I will always point at my mommy's shirt (or whoever shirt) and tell them "pretty".

When asked where is the pretty girl? I will point to my photos on the wall.
When asked who is the handsome boy? I will point at kor kor's photos on the wall.

I can utter this word very clear.

I'm drinking from straw

Last week while mommy attending the Disney Junior event in Bangsar Village II, daddy was babysitting us and brought us around the shopping mall. He then walked into a baby shop and spotted a water tumbler for me. It was the straw type of tumbler (Munchkin brand). Since my Avent sippy cup is leaking, daddy bought this for me.

Few days later, mommy took it out and let me try. I was happy having the new tumbler and mommy helped me to put the straw in my mouth. I bite it at first, then chew it later...then later, I slowly somehow suck it and there were water getting into my mouth. Slowly, slowly...I suck and more and more water getting into my mouth. I finished almost the whole bottle of water in no time and still refuse to let go. I just love this tumbler.

Nowadays, when I was given this tumbler to drink water, I can drink lots and lots of it and finished almost the whole bottle of water. Now, mark my new achievement...I am drinking from straw now...thank you Daddy!!

First bump on the head

@ 1year 2 months 3 weeks and 6 days old

It happened on the last day of May - last Tuesday. I did not nap well that whole day and only napped about 30 mins throughout the whole day. Towards the night time, mommy was getting very frustrated with my clingyness and fussiness. She scolded me a few times and even hit my thigh and buttock with her hands because I kept making noises and she didn't know what I want..well...I think I was overly tired on that day.

After daddy came down from his bath, daddy took over from mommy. Mommy went to the kitchen and took out their rice, ready to have dinner while daddy was watching over me in the living hall. While mommy just turned away from me, I was walking very fast to the Ikea foot stool and suddenly I dropped down just few inches before reaching the stool and I hit my head right at the corner of the leg of the foot stool. Daddy shouted and mommy heard it but she thought I just fell like those normal fall but daddy ran straight to me with a big "OH GOSH"...mommy knew something not right. I paused a while, then started crying out loud.

Mommy rushed to me and found that my right forehead was swollen till it was like the size of half the "egg". Yes....EGG....it was that big oval shape. In the middle of the bump, it lies one straight green line that looked like a vein. It was scary..very scary.

Mommy's heart beating non-stop and immediately she carried me to calm me down. At the same time, she calmed herself down and kept thinking what to do..she then shouted.."Ice..Ice pack..faster...". The swell was very bad..daddy tried to apply the ice pack on my head and I was screaming my lungs out...I just refused the ice pack. It was painful, ok?

After a few rounds of applying ice packs and at the same time, calm me down, I finally calm down when mommy offered me apple. Mommy felt so bad (especially after she has just scolded me before the accident) and heartache...everyone felt heartache actually.. Luckily the swell slowly subsided after an hour or so...However, mommy's heart was very heavy throughout the whole night. She didn't even want to have her dinner.

Mommy monitored me 24 hrs from then and I was all fine. THe next day, my swell was not too bad anymore. It left the blue black small bump on the head till today. This was the worse fall so far. From then on, daddy is very careful with me walking around the house every time he takes care of me now. Mommy also feel stress taking care of me nowadays.

This picture was taken the next morning after the fall. It didn't look too bad from the photo but the bump was definitely visible.

I like kor kor feed me water

I like kor kor feed me water. He is very good boy. He helps mommy to feed me water after I finished my porridge. Funny, at times when the spoon reached my mouth but there was no water in the spoon. Sometimes the water dripped down my clothes. But anyway, I still like kor kor feed me water.

We enjoyed watching the same show too. See how engrossed we were...
